Conflict Mediation
Challenging. Thinking. Connecting.

Coach Mediation softens the sharp edges
Frances chose the additional training as a Mediator, with a barrister from the CPS, because she saw the importance of holding boundaries and careful process well. In her Restorative Coach Mediation, she uses this understanding of rigorous process, her insight into organisational culture and her grasp of human dynamics to hear all the stories and reframe what is happening. She holds the highest levels of compassion and acceptance, helping each party to be heard without judgement or shame, to hear each other with greater compassion, to let go of the drama and competing for Rightness, to connect with the difficult emotions present and then to release some of that.
This restorative approach to Mediation helps individuals and teams to find a way to connect with each other again and to create a realistic and sustainable path back to productivity. Her Coach Mediation helps to co-create a way for everyone to be relieved and to put the conflict behind them, no longer feeling resentment or the need to be Right, to feel respected as well as demonstrating respect for others. Focusing on insight into the situation, Coach Mediation adds a calming elements of thoughtful reflection and unbiased facilitation to create a shared truth. From this place, often relationships flourish where they had felt impossible to reconnect.
Greivances, complaints, “toxic culture” and other HR horrors can all be alleviated. Often, it is worth noting, the Investigation process itself will have made everything worse, as it seeks to apportion blame, which forces people to harden their Positions and to take sides. So Coach Mediation sometimes takes a little time to unwind the damage that may have been done unintentionally. Participants often feel huge relief at getting past what has kept them awake for a long time.
Mediation Approach
Frances
is known as a Coach Mediator for her honesty, clarity and non-judgemental empathy. She listens, she supports, she focuses on the pivot points, she moves the narrative to new places by listening, working hard with all parties to find - what will really make the difference here. Her priorities are authenticity, creativity and a willingness to take on new thinking, as people do their best work when not on guard, embracing uncomfortable realisations and taking responsibility for their next steps. She facilitates shared meaning, helping individuals or teams to become more aligned with their shared purpose and to hear each other’s stories in a way that facilitates healing.
